What problems are you having
What problems are you having with it? Unfortunately, there was never a final version of that. The CD is the beta, the actual install is close to finished as it would ever get. It definitely has its bugs though, but we hope to clear those up with the next release, which is shaping up to come out soon.
Cannot install from LiveCD
I downloaded the ubuntulite_0.8_beta2.iso and burnt it to CD. As a livdcd, it is great -- faster than puppy, even. However, when I go to install, the install stops after Language and Locale -- it goes blank with a small, stationary,white-outlined "x" cursor on a black screen. Ctrl-Alt-F2 brings up some text and a disclaimer, that's all.
Is this going to have to be a two-part install like I read aout in a review? What is going on re: u-lite 0.9 -- same thing? I'm on an inconvenient ISP as far as downloading goes -- no choice.
My friends and associates (who I am trying to convince FOSS is the way to go), especially those who own "antiquated" PCs, think they need an OS that is installable to the Hard Drive. It will take time to bring them around from their ingrained beliefs. Meanwhile, can those of you at U-Lite help?
Why won't the beta install -- bad burn, or what? I'll check the MD5 if I can find it.
